If you follow me on Instagram (@Danieminor13 ;)), you saw that I spent my Valentine’s Day at Paper Source in Annapolis. They hosted a Galentine’s Day Mixer, which was a blast! I learned a few new crafting tricks- hello heat embossing?! How have I never learned about you before?
While I had a blast last night, I learned something more than that. If you’ve followed Defining Danie for a while, you may know that I struggle with anxiety. But, something you may not know, because I haven’t talked about it is that I have been struggling with the job hunt. Recently, because of the job search, I have felt extremely anxious and have had a few panic attacks because of it.
So you may be wondering why am I talking about this while writing about my fabulous time at Paper Source? Well, last night was the first night in a week that I haven’t felt a panic attack come on, and I really think it’s because of how awesome the Galentine’s Day mixer was! Crafting, photo booth pictures, and a scavenger hunt? It was the perfect, stress-reliever that I have been searching for! While a couple of girls who work there and I talked about my job search, it still did not bring me down, because we talked about it in a positive manner.
The night was full of laughter and life goals!
My new life goal may be to become a professional heat embosser? Who knows?!
What I do know is that I will be making some frequent stops to Paper Source’s next workshops! While I was there I had a blast, and I really think craft nights should be required for every adult in the world.
A “craft night” may sound childish, but not everyone gets to have a creative element in their day-to-day lives, so it will give you two hours of creativity that you may not even know you needed. Allowing myself those two hours last night helped my anxiety a ton and if you struggle with anxiety, it may help with yours, too! While I 100% know that crafting will not cure my anxiety, I am always looking for new ways to lower those anxious feelings.
Also, I bought a few really cute items. I will link them down below!
Shout out to the lovely ladies who hosted the Galentine’s Day Mixer last night, Dani, Ashley and Jacie- thank you for celebrating Valentine’s Day with me!
