How to get that GLOW you’ve always been wanting! Two Bronzed Babes + Defining Danie

We all love that after-sun glow, but for some of us, going out and laying in the sun isn’t really an option.

And, for those lucky ones who can tan naturally without the awful burn first, what can you do to have beautifully tan skin without the hassle of having to head to the Islands? We can do spray tans! No…not the orange streaky tans that you are thinking of, but ones that look natural!

I had the opportunity to work with Beth, co-owner of Two Bronzed Babes Mobile Spray Tanning! She came to my house, and gave me a fantastic spray tan. It was such an incredible experience. We did the spray tan in perfect time for the Spring Gala I attended the next day for Planned Parenthood of Maryland.

To start the 30 minute mess-free process, Beth set up her at-home spray tan tent in my living room! We then talked about the correct shade for my natural skin tone, to ensure that I would not look too tan.

I was nervous at first because you do have to undress in front of someone you’ve just met, but Beth made sure that I felt comfortable in my own skin and was very professional! She has seen so many people, so I’m sure my body was not any different from anyone else.

As soon as we were done, I took this picture so that I could compare it to the next day to see how well the color developed!

IMG_1405

The color developed really well- and if it’s your first time getting a spray tan do NOT worry because you are going to be dark but once you shower, you are going to GLOW! I have white sheets, and when I woke up, there was nothing on my sheets.

Here is a picture from the next evening after I showered! This tan came just in time for the gala I attended. This tan helped me feel so confident that evening!

The tan has also lasted on me so well. This weekend, I went to Philly and walked around for hours, and unlike other spray tans I have received, it did not bleed on to any of my clothing. The only place where the tan has not lasted well is my face. But, that is because I wash my face two times a day, and use cleansing wipes to remove my makeup!

Beth and her sister, Rachel, created this mobile spray tanning company after her sister got skin cancer. They both love the way they feel when they are tan, but knew they were going to need a healthier way of acquiring a tan rather than a tanning bed or laying out for hours in the sun!

Two Bronzed Babes can also help you achieve that summertime glow that you’ve been missing. Beth works in the Annapolis area and her sister is in the Pikesville area, but because they’re mobile, they will make the process so simple, and come to you!

They don’t only do one-on-ones, you can also book them for your next girl’s night! Think about how fun your next wine night can be!

Pro-tips:

  • No sweaty activities for at least 6 hours so the color develops well
  • Do a quick rinse off if you have work the next morning, but don’t do a full shower for 12 hours
  • Get yourself a foundation that will work for your new glow!

I cannot wait to book my next session with Beth! To book your first session, you can contact her at (301) 538-7184. To see pictures of others who have gotten sprayed by her, check her out on Instagram @bronzedbabebeth.

Thrifty Thursday Fall Fashion!

Fall is more than football games, pumpkin spice lattes and leaves changing. Although I love all three of those things, just like most, my favorite thing about fall is the fashion. I love vests, knee high boots and feeling a little chilly.

On Sunday, I went to Value Discount Outlet in Akron, Ohio and they were having the best deals! Just like Goodwill, Value Discount Outlet has various color tags attached to the clothing, which lets the store’s staff know when the clothing came into the store. …This also allows for fun things like having certain color tags be a certain price that day!

For example, this Sunday was any green-tagged item was only $1, yellow-tagged items were 50% off and I also received 20% off because I had my student ID! It was a really good thrifting day.

Lets see what I bought!

Right as I walked into Value Discount Outlet (VDO), this yellow vest popped out at me from the 1000s of racks of clothing! My absolute favorite color is yellow.

The vest had a small patch that was sewn on it, but I knew it wouldn’t be an issue to remove it with a seam ripper! This vest is honestly perfect for Kent State football games. I paired the vest with one of my favorite Kent State shirts!

I then found this gorgeous pink shirt! This shirt can totally be work with jeans, as pictured or I can definitely wear this to my sorority’s chapter meetings, where we have to dress up. I love to thrift things that can work in my wardrobe for many occasions.

I was a little worried that this shirt was a little too much of a summer color, but then I just said “ehh, I’ll make up my own rules!” and bought it anyways. 🙂 This shirt only cost me $8, and it was brand new with tags on it! It was originally around $35!

This next outfit features two purchases! I bought both of these times for only $1!

ttleafsweater1The dress shirt was being sold because it had a small stain on it, but I washed it as soon as I got home and it came right out! I pared it with this sweater that has leaves all over it. The sweater is a yellow-green!

I can definitely see this sweater becoming a staple in my wardrobe! I cannot wait to wear it with my black vest and pearls, which will make for a super fall outfit!

I love fall so much! I cannot wait for later October when it comes time for Halloween outfit shopping. Keep your eyes out for upcoming Halloween thrifting adventures! Happy fall!

Thrifty Thursday: Summer to Fall Bag!

So, Defining Danie reader’s, it’s been a while. I’ve missed you all! School has been more than hectic, which is why I haven’t blogged in what feels like a lifetime.

Look at this amazing purchase that I found. The bag was originally $45 and at Goodwill it was being sold for $17, and then I got the student discount and ended up getting the bag for $15!

This week’s Thrifty Thursday is based on a bag I found a few weeks ago that was originally from Target. Orange can go for either summer or fall, but adding this scarf definitely adds more a fall-feel. The bag was brand new and I bought it from Goodwill in Kent, Ohio. Goodwill and Target have a partnership where the Goodwill sells the clothing/accessories not sold during the time that they were being sold in Target so they have another chance to be sold again. The clothing/accessories are sold for a cheaper price than they would be sold in Target.

Although the oranges are not the same, the scarf and bag still complement one-another. The bag has more of a coral undertone and the scarf has a darker orange, magenta, yellow and various colors of taupe! I love the scarf, which I got for only $1.00!

Take a look inside this bag! It even has the perfect compartment for pencils and lipstick. 😉 And the polka dots are a lovely touch.

Incorporating thrifted items into your daily outfits is not hard at all! It was a coincidence that I was actually wearing was thrifted over the summer.

I hope everyone is having a lovely start to fall!

The Summer of a Lifetime

The end of this school year was the most stressful time of my life! This semester I had six group projects. Yes, you read that correctly!

But….

This summer is going to be one for the books! I have so many plans for this summer.

DSC_0020

As a part of of one of my classes, Global Advertising and Public Relations, I get to study abroad! This Thursday, I leave to go to Dublin and London. All semester, my amazing group and I worked on our website to compare the humor between America and Dublin/London. It was really fun!

For two weeks, I will have the opportunity to travel these two amazing cities, and visit some pretty well-known PR and Ad agencies. I am so excited!  Continue reading
