If you’re in a time crunch for a cute festive 4th of July outfit, make sure you go check out your local thrift stores! Be creative with your outfits, because you never know what you can put together!
I am so excited that my first Thirfty Thursday in a while is my 4th of July look! While thrifting at the Goodwill in Crofton, Md. I was looking for simple pieces that would look spectacular together, and here is the outfit that I put together!
I cannot believe it is already Definingdanie.com’s birthday. This first year of blogging has been unimaginable. Defining Danie has opened so many doors and friendships, that I could not imagine not having anymore. I really would like to thank everyone who has supported me through this first year. Thank you for every share, like and follow!
I have definitely learned so much about blogging and about myself through this year-long journey. I cannot wait to see what is next on my journey of the online world! Who knows? If there is anything new that you would love to see on Defining Danie, you have to let me know!
The number one thing that I think has improved since my first post is my use of exclamation points, haha! (Whoops, I guess that was necessary though…) I think that I was so excited when I first started that I thought that everything just HAD to have one.
Make sure you’re connected at all times!
..I belong in Europe is all I can say. For two weeks I traveled all throughout Dublin and London. I was there with one of my classes that I took during the semester, Global Advertising and Public Realtions. While visiting, we not only visited the touristy sites, we worked with groups that we were paired with all semester.
My group, International Wit, worked to compare Continue reading
The end of this school year was the most stressful time of my life! This semester I had six group projects. Yes, you read that correctly!
This summer is going to be one for the books! I have so many plans for this summer.
As a part of of one of my classes, Global Advertising and Public Relations, I get to study abroad! This Thursday, I leave to go to Dublin and London. All semester, my amazing group and I worked on our website to compare the humor between America and Dublin/London. It was really fun!
For two weeks, I will have the opportunity to travel these two amazing cities, and visit some pretty well-known PR and Ad agencies. I am so excited! Continue reading
I cannot believe how long it has been since I have posted a blog post. I missed you all!
I am nearing the end of my spring break. I had a fun start to my spring break! I went to Canada with my sister and best friend for the weekend, and then we drove back to Maryland for the remainder of the break. We went to Windsor, Ontario. It was absolutely adorable for a weekend.
Yesterday, I went to a new salon and had the best hair cut/color I have ever had! If you are in the Annapolis, Md. area, you must go to see Virginia at Possibilities Salon in Crofton, Md.
I went BLONDE! I love it so much. I have always wanted to go this light with my hair, but I was too nervous. I can’t imagine having any other hair color now.
I bought this adorable cup at Target! Tell me it’s not adorable!
I missed you all!
Hi everyone! There is a really fun event coming up this Friday from 6-8! I am hosting this event along with a few friends!
The event is called “Thrift Night Out”! Remember that really adorable Goodwill boutique that I wrote about last week? Well, that’s where the event is!
I live in an apartment-style dorm. I decorated a little in the beginning of the school year, but last night (at 2 a.m. of course) I realized I had a lot of things with my monogram on it, but, nothing with any sayings on it! I came across a quote on Twitter that I absolutely fell in love with- so it had to be painted and put on my walls! 🙂
I used this owl-shaped piece of wood that I bought at Michael’s craft store over the summer that I hadn’t done anything with. Then, I painted it with two coats of white paint.
I decided to use the quote: “She needed a hero so that’s what she became” because a little girl power is ALWAYS needed! I used my favorite gold paint that I also bought at Michaels’s craft store. Make sure that when you’re using a gold paint, to buy the metallic gold paint! It will shimmer, and look GORG (just like all of you!).
Make sure to go over the words at least twice, so the paint isn’t transparent!
At first, I was thinking I liked the board with just the words, and no bedazzles, but I wouldn’t be Danie without any extras on my crafts! So, I decided to look in my crafting bin for something cute I had to put on it, and I found two pretty fake flowers!
I just magically had two flowers left- so, it was meant to be for this craft! I just hot glued them on, and they stayed perfectly.
Now it’s time to hang up your masterpiece! I used a command hook and hung it up in my living room!
I hung it up underneath of one of the many monograms that are in my apartment!
These small things make your dorm room have personality! I would love to see some of your DIYs that are in your dorms!
Who doesn’t love combining fashion and hot deals? My friend Elise and I went last week to blue/ A Goodwill®Boutique / that carries upscale women and men’s clothing. I am in love with this store and have already been back six times!
In the picture above, my friend Elise bought this BCBG jacket for only $15! The prices are hard to beat. The most expensive item in the store is $45, which are the real fur jackets (yes I said REAL FUR)! I bought an adorable Ellen Tracy faux-fur vest for $6.
I also bought the black lace shirt underneath. The shirt with the vest is such a cute combo, and blue has many styles like this. Here are some other cute looks that Elise and I put together (notice the awesome art that is on their walls!):
As you can tell from my photos, I am obsessed with the poncho-style capes. No matter the look you want to go for, blue has the options for you.

No, there isn’t an election, a wedding or my birthday. It is the day that Lilly Pulitzer is coming to Target!
You read that correctly, LILLY. PULITZER. IS. COMING. TO. TARGET. I am so excited! They are going to have a 250-piece collection featured in their 15 different patterns!
What I am wondering is, what are their prices going to be like?
Target, is known for being somewhat affordable, and Lilly Pulitzer, although I love it, is not. Will they have affordable prices, or is it still going to be $80 for the bag that I have been wanting for forever?!
But, look how cute the collection is going to be:
Ugh, look at how adorable those place settings are… they are a must for me! I mean, even the Target symbol next to Lilly’s is adorable!
Let me know your thoughts on LP coming to Target,
