Thrifty Thursday is getting Wintery!

This week, I went thrifting with my friend Marie. Her and I both scored some GREAT things!

I was on a mission this week to find a cute winter coat, that wasn’t black and a poncho/ruana. I went to Village Discount Outlet in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and I wasn’t leaving there until I found what I was looking for!

Hello Everyone!

I am so sorry for posting my Thrifty Thursday so late! This weekend has been rough. But, have no fear, it is here now!

Let’s start off with the red vest with my monogram. If you read my post last week, you would see that the vest itself only cost me $4! Then, I took it to my favorite monogram shop The Dragonfly in downtown Kent, Oh. The gold thread I chose to get was absolutely perfect for this vest. It really completes it, and it was only $7. YAY! I have already worn this vest three times and it is only Sunday, haha!

Next, are the two button downs! One of my favorite fall looks this year is wearing a button down with a sweater over top with a statement necklace! It is a classic-look! Here’s what I mean, if you’re not sure what I mean:

I usually wear jeans or leggings and of course some cute boots!

During this trip, I also bought a really pretty frame. I needed one for my certificate I received a couple of weeks ago from my sorority, Chi Omega! The pretty frame was only $2. Frames can get pretty pricey and if you look in Goodwill you will definitely be able to find some awesome frames!

YES YOU DID JUST SEE A FOSSIL PURSE! Guess how much I bought that REAL Fossil purse! $3.40. It was originally marked to be sold for $15.00, but the sales clerk thought that was too expensive for me to pay, so I got a HUGE bargain on this bag! You can say that I am SUPER DOOPER EXCITED. 🙂

And finally, I found this really adorable teal blazer. For my sorority chapter meetings, we wear business casual each week, so, a blazer is a must.

This week, my total at Goodwill was $18.00!

Again, I am so sorry that this post took me forever to put up, I hope you enjoyed this week’s finds! Check out my post next week!

XOXO,

Danie

Thrifty Thursday Feat. the WINNER of my Giveaway!

DSC_0008 DSC_0009 DSC_0010   DSC_0038  DSC_0058 DSC_0082 DSC_0110DSC_0040

This week’s Thrifty Thursday is super fall themed! My sister Payton, and two of my best friends Amanda and Dani (yes we have  the same name lol) are here this weekend! We have been traveling all around, we have been all over Kent and the areas around! We just came back from a pumpkin patch and it was super adorable! Both of the outfits I’m showing in this Thrifty Thursday are perfect fall outfits!

This week I went to Value Discount Outlet in Akron, Ohio. This store has anything and everything you could ever want! I was in the store with my friend Marie (who was featured last week!) for 2 and a half hours!

The first item that I found is the black puffy vest from Old Navy! I have the same vest from last year, but in coral. I bought the scarf for $45.00 and this year I bought the black vest for $3.00!!! I saved $42 by buying this from VDO!

And next, I bought the adorable patterned shirt! I bought the shirt for $4! I really like this shirt’s material. It is a a nylon/spandex-y material! It is super comfortable.

I hope you like the last picture I posted! Haha!

I also bought one more item, but I want to save it for you for when it gets a little chillier out!

And now, the moment a lot of you have been waiting for! The winner of my first GIVEAWAY is Abbie Burgess!!! Congratulations! What did Abbie win? She won:

Abbie will get to choose the colors that she wants for her monogrammed hat. I am so excited about my first giveaway!

Thrifty Thursday featuring my first GIVEAWAY!

This week I decided I would check out the Goodwill in Kent, Ohio! I brought along my friend Marie. We had a ton of fun looking though all of the clothes! You can even see Marie found a cute new necklace (haha, she didn’t actually buy the Burger King necklace).

I was on a hunt for cute cardigans and pullovers! The leaves have changed in Kent, Ohio and in the matter of only 3 weeks, I guarantee you it will feel like winter here (yes I have cried about this 🙁 )! I also wanted to find more things to monogram and I convinced Marie that she needed to buy something to get monogrammed with me!

We were searching for about 20 minutes before I found anything. This Goodwill is not the biggest, but, I always say if you search, you will find something! And, I succeeded! YAY! First thing I found was the animal print cardigan. I am super excited about this cardigan! it fit me so well and it was the most comfortable thing ever…and it is adorable! It looks better on then it does on a hanger!

Then while searching again I found this adorable black and white cardigan. In this picture it kind of looks like a bathrobe, but I promise it doesn’t in person! In person it makes me look so little! it is synched at the waist and the material is so soft. It is going to be so warm for these cold days we are having.

Then, Marie found this purple pullover for me! I love it! I want to monogram this, but I’m not sure what color to monogram it with? What color do you all think? HELP ME! (I am kind of thinking white?) And finally, this zip-up gray sweater! I do not ever want to take this gray sweater off. Honestly, it is the most comfortable sweater I have ever owned. In the picture it was hard to see the detail on it! I honestly do not even know if I want to monogram this just because it looks like a nicer sweater.

I am dropping off the sweaters tomorrow so, let me know!

Now, it is the GIVEAWAY part! I decided to do the Giveaway now because it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I wanted to include the amazing book, “Make Mine a Double, a Mastectomy that is” by Beth Kaufman!  photo-3

Thrifty Thursday Halloween Style!

DSCF6490DSCF6491DSCF6495DSCF6496DSCF6499DSCF6501DSCF6507DSCF6503

This past week I asked to be challenged to go out to find certain things while thrifting! One of the challenges was to go out and find a Halloween costume! So, I decided to go out and find a “Home-made” costume and one that was store-made. The items that I bought were only $14. If you were to go out and buy either of these costumes at a Halloween store I promise you will spend over $30. I personally think “Home-made” costumes are always so much cuter and original!

My “Home-made” costume if you couldn’t tell was inspired by Rosie the Riveter! I love her! Plus, her look is simple, and everyone will be able to tell what you are. I did add some of my own clothing in this. But, I bought the things that you also may have to go out to purchase! I bought the jean shirt and the “headband” for my first look! I looked all around Goodwill to see if they had Rosie’s signature red and white polka dotted headband but… I didn’t have any luck. So, I thought outside of the box and went to look in the men’s tie area and bought one that was super close to Rosie’s! Underneath of the jean shirt I just wore a basic V-neck and Jeans with combat boots! I feel like Rosie would wear these two things, especially because they were not the “norm” for women of her time.

Next, for my store bought costume I found this adorable lady bug costume! Please guess how much it was… If you guess $10, then you were correct. I was bummed that Goodwill did not have any antennas. 🙁  But I left the cute red headband on. But, if I were to wear this on Halloween I would go out and buy antennas to complete my look. On the back of the costume there are cute little wings!

I love both of these costumes but, I have to say that I love my Rosie the Riveter one a little bit more! 🙂

I hope you all will think about Thrifting your Halloween costumes this year, I promise it will save you an arm and a leg! I would love to see the costumes that you all find! Please share the pictures with me on Facebook on my page Defining Danie or on Twitter/Instagram @Danieminor13!

Hope you all enjoyed this weeks themed Thrifty Thursday!

Thrifty Thursday!

DSCF6425 DSCF6426 DSCF6427 DSCF6428 DSCF6429 DSCF6430 DSCF6431 DSCF6432 DSCF6433 DSCF6434 DSCF6435

This week I had a BLAST thrifting at the Goodwill in Akron, Oh! Four of my friends tagged along! This week I was continuing with my Fall themed Thrifty Thursdays! As you can see in the first 3 pictures are the pullovers that I got monogrammed! I talked about them in my last post and I got to pick them up today. We had to rush to the store to pick them up. They closed at 6 and I walked in at 5:56! They turned out so amazing and I cannot wait to wear them.

This week I spent $11 for my 3 items! Tomorrow, I am going to put up a post of how to wear these items with items that you will already have in your closet! But, first the white sweater, I am in love with the detail on this sweater. And, let me tell you, this is the softest sweater I have ever owned. It will be perfect for the rest of this school year, considering that last year it snowed in Kent, Ohio until April ( I sometimes wish I went to school in Florida haha)! This sweater will be perfect with either jeans or leggings, so whatever my little heart pleases that day.

Next, the red shirt! The shirt is made out of a chiffon material, I know it is hard to tell from this picture, but hopefully in my pictures tomorrow you won’t be as hard to. This shirt fit me perfectly. I love when that happens, because that does not happen too often for me!

Finally, I know you are asking me Danie, what were you thinking buying this bedazzled sweater? LET ME JUST TELL YOU… I love this sweater and I love that it was 50% off today, making it $3! It fits me more like a sweater dress. I will show you all tomorrow how it looks on, because I honestly love it!

I cannot wait to show you all how to wear these pieces in tomorrow’s post! Check it out tomorrow! Also, if you already haven’t go like my Facebook page for the most recent updates about DefiningDanie.com!

Hope you all are doing fantastic!

Thrifty Thursday is getting Fall-y!

DSCF6390 DSCF6391 DSCF6394 DSCF6396 DSCF6397 DSCF6398 DSCF6399 DSCF6400 DSCF6401 DSCF6404 DSCF6407 DSCF6409

As of yesterday it has become Fall at Kent State. Today the high was 64 degrees and it was raining *sigh*, summer has officially come to an end, so that means that my outfits have to change! My favorite thing in Fall is boots, sweaters and scarves! This week as you can see, Shawna came with me to thrift! We went to Value discount in Akron, Oh. Shawna and I both LOVE to shop so naturally we were thrifting for 2 and 1/2 hours! Haha!

My favorite purchase is the yellow linen jacket that you see in the first few pictures! It was $4 and is the most comfortable thing ever! It’s perfect jacket for fall because it is heavy enough for the cool mornings walking to class but also light enough that I’m not hot in the afternoons. The leggings are not from this round of thrifting, but they were thrifted! Then the shoes were from when I went to Moonlight Madness in August! I am SO excited to be able to wear them now that it won’t be too hot to wear them. Then the scarf is not thrifted either but it went so well with the outfit. Next outfit! I am in love with this shirt! It fits me perfectly and it would look really cute under a jean jacket or a sweater for those cold nights!

Next, I bought the sweater today! Shawna and I fought over this sweater for a good 30 minutes! Haha! If you are an avid reader of my blog you will remember that I was super excited about the shoes that I’m wearing with this outfit! I bought them probably about a month ago for only $5! I wish I could say that this scarf was also thrifted but it is not… I bought this scarf from Zara about two years ago and it is my FAVORITE scarf. The colors just went really well with the whole outfit. Finally, this yellow sweatshirt… I do not know why I love it so much! But, what I do know is that it is perfect for fall (what sweatshirt isn’t?) and it has parrots on it! Why wouldn’t I love it?

So, you’re asking how much money I spent total for these outfits today, probably $9?!

Shawna’s turn! Shawna LOVES the comfy yet cute look! She rocks the different fleece quarter zips! I am also in LOVE with her boots! She reminds me of a Native-American in them! 🙂 The scarf that she is wearing the last picture is Lilly Pulitzer and has the most adorable elephants on them!

Shawna spent a total of $13 for the 3 fleece pullovers! I’m so proud of her :’)!

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Thrifty Thursday!

Danie

My Finds at Moonlight Madness at Goodwill!

DSCF6203 DSCF6204 DSCF6205 DSCF6209 DSCF6213 DSCF6217 DSCF6221 DSCF6225 DSCF6227

Last night was Moonlight Madness at Goodwill! That means that all of their stock was 50% off of their already amazing prices. My mom and I went to the Goodwill in Crofton, Maryland.

As my mom rushed into Goodwill at 9:30 pm, already exhausted from the day we had, we were woken up from the sounds and the rush of good sales that we were about to encounter. We sifted through the clothing looking for something amazing that we knew would be 50% off! We were amazed at all of the awesome things were finding! Together we bought a total of 22 items for only $35! The pictures that you see above are the items that I bought. I bought 4 shirts, YES ONE OF THOSE IS MICHAEL KORS (that was purchased for $15!). Then, I also bought two yellow containers that I cannot wait to put in my apartment this year! I think I am going to use them to hold my makeup brushes! Then the two watering cans my mom is going to use as planters (SO cute I know!).

Whoever got to go to this sale, please share the items that you bought with me! I have already had a few people show me and I am loving that everyone is having so much fun Thrifting!
